When preparing for your pharmacy technician exam you will want to make sure you have a great PTCB study guide. There are lots of options to choose from, but there are just a few books that really stand out. Our reviews of the best pharmacy technician study guides available will help you make your decision:
PharmacyExam.com – Practice Tests & Review Books. This site has some great pharmacy technician practice tests for sale. With their downloadable practice tests you can start studying right away. The downloadable versions work on any computer as well as tablets and smartphones. They also sell a great PTCB study guide that covers all the key topics and includes 500 practice questions.
PTCB Exam Simplified, 3rd Edition. Another great option is this PTCB study guide by David Heckman. Newly updated with a focus on the most relevant material that you are likely to find on your exam. Easy to understand and packed with examples and practice problems. Includes a full length practice exam.
Mosby’s Review for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination. This is the new 3rd edition of the popular pharmacy technician study guide by James Mizner. It’s a solid study guide like the previous ones, but there are a few too many errors to give this my highest recommendation. But it does cover every topic that is on the PTCB and ExCPT exams, with plenty of useful lists and charts. This PTCB book also includes 7 practice exams with another 10 on the companion website. That’s a grand total of 1,700 practice questions and another 700 electronic flashcards. There are also tips and strategies for taking the exam.
Complete Math Review for the Pharmacy Technician If you feel like you need more test prep for the math problems on the exam then you should pick up a copy of this PTCB math study guide. The author does a thorough job of covering all the most important pharmacy calculations with clear writing and great explanations. This book includes over 850 practice problems. Everything you need to know for the PTCE math questions.
